🌈 Losers of Near-Kyiv (THE ANIMATED SHOW?)
currently exists as a WEBCOMIC that you can read online.worth over 100 pages, has a small but very loving and dedicated fan-community.
it is not currently an ANIMATED SHOW,
but it was originally created as a concept for AN ANIMATED SHOW,
and one day, it just might become one!
small blender 2d software animation test.
why not yet?
it's simple!
- animation needs a lot of time. 🕑
- animation needs a lot of money. 💸
- animation needs a lot of people. 👥
- avrum, it's author, is one singular person who currently works pretty much solo on this project, and would not be able to make an entire ANIMATED SERIES all by itself.
you would not want to jump into animation without a very good plan, a large audience, and some idea of funding.
aw. depressing, but makes sense. there's a reason why animation is such a rare medium. feel free to enjoy reading the comic right now, i suppose.
however, the truth is, with enough time and support, it might one day become a real animated series.
if you're here, you need to know: losers of near-kyiv is not a standard project. 💛🌻
HERE'S WHY.
⬅️ fan-drawing by artisthetic
losers of near-kyiv only became a webcomic thanks to random people's interest and kindness. it was nothing more than concept art randomly posted on social media, but since then, losers of near-kyiv has gotten its own interactive website, hundreds of pages, enthusiastic fan-translation offers, and a steadily growing audience.
all that paints a simple message:
losers of near-kyiv could become a real show if one day, there will be enough people who will want to make it happen!
even though right now it is only a comic, avrum has never stopped researching the possibilities for it to become a web-series; learning what it would take to produce it;
and has been doing heavy networking for years now, becoming personally connected to illustrators, animators, programmers, voice actors, and even a successful kickstarter campaign launcher.
that's because several years ago, independent animation was still obscure, but nowadays times changed a lot. with free, open-source animation software becoming more accessible, with more artists within the industry searching for jobs outside of large entertainment companies, with more everyday people starting to see value in smaller-scale, experimental projects, and supporting them,
idea of someone making a successful indie show is no longer a wild dream.
the amazing digital circus, lackadaisy, battle for dream island, clara & the below, pretty pretty please i don't want to be a magical girl, strawberry vampire- people are willing to give such projects a try, and the same as for indie videogames, the future for indie animation looks extremely bright.
even now, when losers of near-kyiv is a little niche comic with a small audience, and might take years to become bigger (if it ever will become bigger),
there is genuine hope for it.
so, whenever you are reading this comic, remember: maybe it'll become a show one day!
and maybe...
you can be one of the people who will make it happen, if you share this story with more people and let the world know about it. 💖
cool. i guess ill just go and read the comic for now!
